Wednesday 5/14:

6pm - Yoga Nidra POP-UP

What some may call yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice aimed at cultivating a sense of peace and relaxation in the mind and body. Students lay on their backs in “savasana” for a full 60 minutes during a guided meditation. The goal is to drop in between the state of wakefulness and sleep. Yoga Nidra was first mentioned in the Upanishads (the oldest sacred scriptures), explained as one of the four states of consciousness. This practice of tapping into the subconscious can help relieve chronic tension in the body and anxiety in the mind. The subconscious holds the essence of our true self. Tap into your full potential and hold space for yourself to relax!

Thursday:

6pm - Ashtanga Primary Series (short form)

The Ashtanga vinyasa primary series is the first of six in the ashtanga yoga system. Each series is a fast-paced sequence of postures including sun-salutations, standing postures, seated postures, backbends and inversions. The Primary Series is called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy or yoga for health, because of the cleansing and strengthening effect it has on both body and mind.  Ashtanga is a rigorous practice, but anyone with previous yoga experience is welcome to attend. Students are encouraged to honor their bodies by modifying poses and taking breaks as needed. The sequence taught in this class is a shortened form of the full primary series, with several of the seated postures excluded in order to fit the class into one hour. Eve has been teaching this short form of the Ashtanga primary series since 2021.

*For our warm classes, we heat the studio to reach between 80-85°

Saturday:

8:30am - Vinyasa w/yin

This class is a fusion of two popular styles of yoga, Vinyasa & Yin. We get our heart rate up by moving through a series of postures helping to tone muscles. Then, we slow it down and stretch into connective tissue holding floor poses for an extended time. Here, we’ll add the Yin to the Yang for a more wholesome practice. A beautifully balanced class where you’re encouraged to reach your edge always listening to your body’s needs. Feel your personal power by learning to steady the mind, focus your breath, and discover ultimate presence!

It is accessible to everyone with minimal risk of injury. The majority of the time is spent in floor postures with a short standing sequence. It’s designed to help relieve stress and dissolve tension in the body. This class will help you gain flexibility gradually and cultivate mind/body awareness.

“I am new to Yoga. I was in search of a studio where I could feel comfortable. I was fortunate to have stumbled into Bodhi Yoga as it is in my neighborhood. I have taken classes from both Megan and Andreas. Both of them were as knowledgeable as they were welcoming. The classes were enjoyable but challenging enough that I was left with a sense of accomplishment. I look forward taking more classes at Bodhi Yoga and working with the staff as I learn about and develop my own yoga practice.” -William S.

“Lovely, beachy-themed studio! Awesome variety of classes. Love that the yoga classes are practiced holistically for mind and body wellness rather than just a workout class.” -Ally K.

“Bodhi is infused with so much love and intention. Their mission truly is to support humanity's journey. They assist in balancing mind, body, and spirit through various fun and exciting practices such as ecstatic dance, kirtan & cocoa, yoga asanas, singing bowl meditations, breath work, massage, and reiki to name a few. It is an ever evolving and beautiful space that welcomes the new. It is a safe space to come rest, relax, recharge, and release the burdens of the world.” - Amy S.

“One of the best yoga experiences in my life! Will definitely be going again. The ambiance is perfectly paired with the teachers voice and energy. It was a good flow, but not overwhelming for the start of a day. Perfect for a beginner like myself or someone more advanced. Highly recommend!” -Haley B.
